With the Xone:DB4, Allen&Heath have once again managed to develop a mixer that sets the standard.
Based on the FX-System of the iLive Series, special effect algorithms were created, with beat orientation parameters, which are perfectly integrated into the setup. Because the loops and effects are automatically synchronized to the tempo, it is easy, to build crazy grooves, without fear of latency, sound loss or other disturbances that are associated with pure laptop or software solutions. The icing on the cake is the flexible Input matrix, with which every input can be allocated to any channel or one input can be allocated to all channels simultaneously. Making it possible to execute various processes on a single track, which is allocated to multiple channels and it is possible to ‘fade’ between the different versions or a recorder loop is later built-in again. The digital design team at Allen&Heath has done an incredible job to ensure that this mixer is one of the most innovative and exciting DJ tools available today.
The heart oft he XONE:DB4 is the powerful QUAD FX CORE DSP Engine, which makes it possible to have an effect bank and a dedicated BPM detection on every channel, which automatically fits all time-based effects and loops to the tempo of the music. There are 5 effect types in studio quality which where optimized for DJing - Delays, Reverbs, Modulations, Resonator and Damage. Additionally, every effect type has a patch library of different effect variations. Every FX-Bank has a permanently allocated control for ‘expression’ and one for ‘Dry/Wet’, while for extensive effect manipulation the control on the FX-Master section can be used.
