Not only has Roland's patent for their TB-303 expired, but apparently Roland is no longer interested in chasing the “small business” of electronic music. This has been welcome news for the young Frenchmen of Cyclone Analogic, who's reputation has now blossomed in the Acid scene.
The TT-303 from Cyclone Analogic is an imitation TB-303, which at first glance is an almost identical visual copy of the 303, and perhaps even the best in history. The layout is almost identical to the old Transistor Bassline from Roland. The Track knob additionally carries the name “Preset”, an inspiring additional function which gives you access to up to 224 pre-programmed sequences at the press of a button.
As opposed to the original, this unit features RGB LEDs, so that you better visualize the patterns and various control functions. Next to a flexible Arpeggio, the Mode section provides a MIDI mode which makes it possible to playback the notes of an external Sequencer. The regulators for Cutoff, Resonance, Env Mode, Decay and Accent are not lacking compared to the original, as well as the important square/saw switch.
Whoever is not willing to pay 10 times as much for a used TB-303, will welcome the ideal solution provided by this more than capable successor that is the TT-303 from Cyclone Analogic. !!! 3 Years Music Store Warranty !!!
