With the Blueshawk, Gibson built a unique guitar from 1996 to 2006, whose form and appointments were developed especially for the Blues and its related genres. This instrument enjoyed great popularity within a very short period of time and achieved legendary status mainly through B.B. Kings "Litte Lucille".
For all musicians who are looking for an adequate Blues guitar, but cannot afford one of the very rare and expensive originals, Gibson’s subsidiary Epiphone now presents a suitable alternative.
The Epiphone Blueshawk has a warm basic tone with resonant acoustic timbre, with its compact, hollow Mahogany body, finished with a solid Maple top, while the long 25.5 "(648 mm) scale provides for a particularly defined resonating behavior of the strings.
Equipped with two P-90 PRO pickups and a six-stage VariTone switch, the Epiphone Blueshawk delivers a wide range of dynamic and powerful sounds. There are no secondary noises, thanks to a third "dummy" coil inside the body which produces a humbucker effect.
The Nighthawk bridge, with string through body, contributes to the formation of the characteristic Blueshawk sound and guarantees perfect string intonation, while Epiphone Deluxe tuners are reliable.
