The new LCT 550 sets new standards in low generated self-noise and manufacturing tolerances, thereby underlining Lewitt's demands as an innovative and visionary manufacturer of premium microphones. The LCT550 is the first large diaphragm studio condenser microphone which achieves a low-noise level of 0dB* making it one of the most silent microphones available. (*0dB-A electronics only, 3 dB (A) according to IEC 60268-1 due to Brownian motion. In simple terms: the sound caused by the movement of air molecules)
The LCT 550 allows for the recording of extremely quiet sources with a high level of precision and dynamics. An unbelievable dynamic range of 140 dB guarantees the best possible results in any recording application. The three-level pre-attenuation (0 dB, -6 dB and -12 dB) raises the SPL as high as 155 DB. The cardioid polar pattern of the capsule effectively reduces rear sound sources. The LCT 550 is equipped with the popular Lewitt Clipping History Technology which indicates if the signal was overloaded during the recording, additionally the Automatic Attenuation feature of this microphone automatically switches to another level if the signal is too powerful. To reduce structure-borne noise a two-way low-cut filter with 80 Hz / 12 dB /octave and 160 Hz/ 6 dB/octave is made available.
The precise calibration of the capsule and electronics minimizes the manufacturing tolerances, which means that any two microphones from this series, set identically, will always form a matched pair at +/- 0 dB!
Features: A perfect match - highly precise calibration of capsule and electronics means that any two microphones from this series will always form a matched pair at +/- 0 dB Precise transient response thanks to the 3-micron-thin, gold-layered, low-mass, 1-inch Mylar diaphragm Extraordinary sensitive: capture even extremely weak signals with great precision and detail Cardioid polar pattern for effective rear sound rejection 0 dB (A) self-noise from electronics and circuitry * 140 dB dynamic range Max.
