With the RT-2 Rotary Ensemble, Boss elevates the classic rotary speaker effect to a new level, delivering one of the most authentic rotary speaker simulations available along with modern features for creative sound design. The RT-2 offers three distinct modes: Mode One replicates the original vintage tone with classic preamp characteristics, Mode Two emphasizes a natural room sound that pairs perfectly with distortion pedals, and Mode Three provides a powerful modulation with a wider frequency range. The updated Drive control lets you adjust the horn to bass ratio for the perfect balance between clear highs and deep lows. Smooth transitions are enhanced by the color rotor display, which visually synchronizes the rotation of both horn and bass rotors.

External operation and numerous control options

The RT-2 also delivers the usual Boss standards in terms of ease of use: The footswitch not only allows you to control effect status and speed, but also to activate a brake function that emulates the realistic braking behavior of a real rotary box. External footswitches (e.g. Boss FS-5U, FS-6 or FS-7) allow independent switching between slow and fast speed, while expression pedals (such as the EV-5 or FV-500H) can be used to control other parameters in real time. The rise/fall switch on the rear also allows the duration of the speed changes to be set individually.
