The Fender 196 Relic Stratocaster Fiesta Red 2 hides a number of interesting details under its chic, artificially aged finish. The neck and body are made of thermally treated woods, which promise a particularly lively basic sound, while the modernised Strat circuit with Tone Saver and Greasebucket Circuit promises versatile sounds. Last but not least, the Fender 1962 Relic Stratocaster Fiesta Red has the typical American Vintage Tremolo and precise Fender Vintage mechanics.
Body and neck of this Fender 1962 Relic Stratocaster are made of thermally treated woods. Here the alder of the body and the maple of the neck are "baked" in a vacuum oven, whereby the woods lose a large part of their residual moisture and thus become insensitive to climatic fluctuations. At the same time, the "Roasting" promotes a particularly lively response and even sustain in the tone. With the " Large C" profile, the neck also fits snugly in the hand, so that Palisander every lick on the historically correct " Round Laminated " fingerboard comes out of your fingers easily.
The Custom Shop team chose three hand-wound Single Coil pickups to pick up the 1962 Relic Stratocaster Fiesta Red nib. With a '60s Fender Strat Single Coil on the neck, a '65 Strat Single Coil in the middle and a '69 on Strat Single Coil the bridge, you get authentic Vintage sounds with the typical clarity. Due to the inverse winding and polarity of the center pickups (Reverse Wound/Reverse Polarity (RWRP)), the intermediate positions are hum-free. In addition, the Fender 1962 Relic Strat has a modernized circuit with Tone Saver and Greasebucket Circuit. While the former prevents loss of treble when the volume control is turned back, the latter prevents the bass from being overemphasized when the tone controls are played, so that the sound never becomes muddy.
