Make Noise - Plexiphon
interwoven reverb and multi-tap echoes in the stereo field
Make Noise 's Plexiphon is a stereophonic, spatial texturizer that allows for smooth crossfading between reverb and multi-tap echoes. The widest range of possible results is not clearly reverb or echo; rather, the effects module is able to emphasize and enhance the character that was previously hidden in the processed audio material. There are no submenus, so smooth transitions between all states are a pleasant "side effect".
The Plexus control simultaneously modulates the number of feedback paths in the algorithm and their interconnection. The size of the paths determines the temporal relationship between them and acts like a delay time or room size at the two end points of Plexus. Diffuse and Color are essential for blurring, sharpening, darkening and brightening over time. Couple and Skew are stereo functions: Couple determines the extent to which the left and right sides are isolated from or blended with each other, while Skew allows simultaneous inversion or tandem control of the left and right paths in the Plexus, Size and Color parameters. The send gate input determines where and when the input signal is fed into the plexus. If no cable is plugged into this socket, the signal is sent through to the plexus. The CV output is an envelope follower with which the module can modulate itself or modulate other modules with this control voltage.
