The Shure BLX288E/PG58 H8Eis a wireless dual-handheld microphone system for vocals, speech and presentations. The set comprises the BLX88 dual receiver and two BLX2 handheld transmitters with PG58 microphone capsules, and operates in the H8E frequency band of 518–542 MHz. Thanks to automatic group and channel scanning, set-up is quick and straightforward, whilst manual channel and group settings offer additional flexibility.

The system allows up to 12 compatible units to operate simultaneously – depending on the frequency band and RF environment – and achieves a range of up to 91 metres with a clear line of sight. The frequency response of 50 Hz to 15 kHz ensures clear and balanced speech and vocal transmission, complemented by a dynamic range of 100 dB and a typical total harmonic distortion of just 0.5%.

The BLX88 receiver features XLR microphone outputs as well as 6.3 mm jack outputs and offers LED indicators for audio levels, clipping and operating status. The BLX2 handheld transmitters each operate on two AA batteries and offer a battery life of up to 14 hours. Two gain levels, including a -10 dB cut, are also available. An integrated lock function protects the transmitter and receiver from accidental changes during operation.
