From the authentic "Dirty Lemon" look of a sunburst finish that has faded with time, to the silky vintage patina of the nitrocellulose lacquer finish, to authentic manufacturing methods such as the use of Hide-Glue and the long neck foot, the 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue emerges as a detailed reissue of the legendary Holy Grail Les Pauls. At the guitar amp, moreover, Gibson Custombuckers conjure up authentic PAF tones whose vocal timbres and lively dynamics provide the ideal foundation for traditional Blues and rock. naturally completes the Gibson Custom Shop the 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue VOS Dirty Lemon with historically accurate hardware appointments.

The 1959 Les Paul Std Reissue's one-piece mahogany body and mahogany neck are glued together with a long neck base and hide-glue.
Traditional manufacturing methods
Traditional manufacturing methods and a paper-thin nitrocellulose finish create the foundation for the authentic tone and feel of the '59 Les Paul Standard Reissue. While the one-piece mahogany body carries a two-piece "bookmatched top" of fine-grained curly maple, the mahogany neck is glued to a long neck base. The use of glass-hardening Hide-Glue for all wood joints guarantees an unhindered resonance of the entire guitar. The not-too-bold "'50s Rounded C" profile with 12" fretboard radius also promises comfortable playing characteristics, so that traditional playing techniques of Blues and rock can be implemented with ease on the rosewood fretboard.
Two custombuckers with Alnico III magnets and a hand-wired circuit with oil paper capacitors elicit vintage sounds with authentic PAF character from the amp.
Custombucker for authentic PAF sounds
At the guitar amp, the 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue naturally comes up with the impossibly warm and vocally articulated sound of the coveted vintage originals. Using Alnico III magnets and non-waxed coils, the Gibson Custombuckers installed on the neck and bridge turn out to be detailed replicas of the legendary PAF humbuckers, eliciting traditional tones from the amp with punchy lows, a wide-ranging midrange and velvety highs. To customize the tone, there's also a hand-wired circuit with Switchcraft toggle for pickup selection and separate volume and tone pots from CTS for each pickup. Historically correct oil paper capacitors also promise harmonic Treble roll-offs.
Kluson tuners with a stamp on the body (Single Line) and a ring on the wings (Single Ring) keep '59 LP Standard Reissue securely in tune.
Historically correct hardware
Last but not least, historically correct add-on parts complement the successful Vintage vibes of the Gibson 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue VOS Dirty Lemon. While all plastic parts are made of authentic cellulose acetate butyrate (CAB), the aged nickel look of the metal parts supports the look of a well-kept vintage original. A classic aluminium stop bar guides the strings over the ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge designed by legendary Gibson President Ted McCarty, which guarantees accurate intonation and comfortably playable string action through its adjustment features. At the classic "Open Book" headstock the strings also run over a nylon saddle to the classic Kluson tuners, which not only feature the authentic single line/single ring look but also promise a precise and robust tuning of the electric guitar.
