GRETSCH G6134T-140 Limited Edition Penguin Two Tone Stone/Pure Platinum Full
The Gretsch G6134T-140 Limited Edition Penguin electric guitar stands out with its metallic custom nitrocellulose finish in Two Tone Stone/Pure Platinum

The Exclusive 140th Anniversary Edition from Gretsch.

The guitar house founded in 1883 by Mannheim's Friedrich Gretsch in Brooklyn not only produces guitars with a high recognition value in style and sound but also high-quality elements that are indispensable in the music world. With their timeless design and indestructible features, the semi-acoustic guitars are more than just a cult classic for Blues and rock fans. For the 140th anniversary ("Double-Platinum Anniversary") of the company, a limited reissue of some of the most classic Gretsch models has now been developed, which shine in style in double-platinum colours. The G6134T-140 Limited Edition Penguin Two Tone Stone/Pure Platinum is fully equipped with FT-67 Filter'Tron pickups, Grover tuners, classically versatile circuitry, and adorned with premium tonewoods in a Custom nitrocellulose finish and a colour-matched headstock with 140th Anniversary badge.

High-quality woods and construction

The traditional construction of the Penguin has been impressing blues and rock lovers since 1958 with its full and acoustic sound, which is partly created by the mahogany body and its resonance chambers. The 140th Anniversary model further relies on a top made of Adirondack spruce, which supports the volume and power of the sound. In keeping with the "Double Platinum" anniversary theme, the top and headstock of the G6134T-140 shine in an expressive Stone Platinum contrasting with the Pure Platinum finish on the back and neck. This is rounded out by a Silver-Sparkle binding, nitrocellulose finish and anniversary plaque, as well as the signature penguin on the Silver-Plexi pickguard.

Gretsch FT-67 Filter'Tron with Treble bleed-circut.

The tonal dynamics of the Gretsch G6134T-140 Limited Edition Penguin Two Tone Stone/Pure Platinum are enhanced by Gretsch's new FT-67 Filter'Tron humbucker pickups. Adorned with Perloid bobbins, these versions of Gretsch's time-honoured Filter'Trons elicit vintage voicing with a rounded with modern tone from the electric guitar. Matching the pickguard, the humbucker frames are also finished in a Pure Platinum finish. A typical Gretsch circuit is also present, with which the tone can be adjusted through individual Jewel-Arrow Volume knobs and Master/Tone controls. The Treble Bleed circuit also provides balance and expressive playing at any volume.

Hardware and other details

Reliable Hardware is a must for any Gretsch guitar, which of course can be found on the 140th Double Platinum Anniversary version. Six strings run through a Traditional Bigsby B3CP string-thru vibrato tailpiece over an Adjusto-Matic bridge with ebony base. The overlying ebony fingerboard features 22 Medium Jumbo frets, with Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays spread across the sides. For stable tuning, Grover Imperial Locking tuners are located on the headstock.
