The D-18
The unique selling point of the D-18
In addition to the all-solid construction, the large dreadnought body and Forward-Shifted-Scalloped-X bracing also provide an assertive sound. With this innovative top bracing, the intersection of the slats is a few mm closer to the sound hole, whereupon an extensive free top area behind the bracing is created. This results in improved vibration behaviour, which gives the sound additional volume and benefits an expressive stage presence.
The guitar neck made of Selected Hardwood with the in-house Modified Low Oval Profile is extremely comfortable in the hand and, thanks to its nut width of 44.5 mm, is made for fingerpicking and powerful strumming. Thanks to the velvety-smooth texture of the ebony fingerboard, the picking hand glides over all 20 frets as if by itself. Furthermore, the compensated bone bridge inlay ensures a flat string action, which in combination with the shortened 635 mm scale length requires less effort when picking.
