The DW PDP Concept Maple CM5 Studio in Satin Charcoal Burst is a professional 5-piece drum set including hardware package and snare drum. The shells are 100% maple and produce a warm and resonant sound, which can be used in many modern music styles. High-quality shell hardware such as True Pitch tuning rods, Dual Turret lugs and triple flanged steel hoops round off the shell. In connection with the suspension Tom Mount directly from DW's hardware catalog, thanks to which the Tom Toms can resonate completely free and with the cast claws for the 20" bass drum, professional demands are also met.
The name "Concept Maple" already reveals: all shells are made entirely of maple and feature seven layers of the popular wood. The constuction of the snare even uses ten layers, as well as the MAG Throw Off Snare throw-off known from DW. The individual shell sizes were selected according to the F.A.S.T. system (Fundamentally Accurate Sized Toms) for maximum resonance. This is supported by another concept already known from DW, the "Graduated Counter Hoops". In concrete terms, this means that the thickness of the hoops matched to the respective tom size, so smaller toms are not unnecessarily constricted while larger shells get the robust hoops they need. In this set you will find 1.5mm hoops on the Tom Toms, a 2.0mm hoop on the Floor Tom and the snare even gets a 2.5mm thick hoop.
The outstanding quality and stability of the hardware, consisting of snare stand, hihat stand, cymbal stand, boom cymbal stand and single pedal, is also impressive. Just like the shell hardware, the rest of the hardware components have a chrome finish, resulting in a chic, smooth look.
