Its a very well made drum kit, especially considering its price. The shells look awesome. The bass drum is really punchy and saves you a lot of space because of its unique size and configuration. Overall a very versatile, perfect kit for small venues or if you want something affordable, simple yet great sounding.
I have to say that I did not expect this kit to sound this good out of the box. Even with the stock Chinese Remo UX heads it sounds surprisingly good. I suppose these are Chinese clear Ambassadors. The best part of the kit is the kick drum. What a great size! With only a folded soft rug inside, softly touching both heads and no hole in the reso head it is very punchy thunderous with a nice, focused boom. The toms are also very nice and I suppose that by putting some coated Emperors on them they'll get a bit more focused, with less of the plastic attack from clear heads that I don't like. But the body is there and they sing. The snare is somewhat mediocre, not the greatest snare in the world, of course, but a perfectly usable, quite bright sounding snare that sounds even great with proper tuning.
Now, the Sonor hardware on the drums seems very sturdy and the mounds are all excellent. But the Fame hardware that comes with it, that is one robust piece of steel! Totally awesome. I bought a separate Fame multiclamp and I mounted the tom from the cymbal stand. It's so sturdy I wouldn't be hesitant to mount two more cymbal arms from it, ore even another tom If I had to. Full of memory locks and really heavy. The same goes for the hi-hat stand and the kick pedal is very adjustable. Overall, I have only two complaints. First, that the snare stand is just not a good match for the rest of the hardware as it is not as heavy duty and its adjustability is quite basic. Second, the routing work on the bearing edges was a bit "fast". I had to sand the edges with a fine sandpaper in order to smooth them out as at some points they were a bit rough.
Other than that, an amazing sounding kit for the money. This bundle is possibly the best deal in the low-budget drum world today. I can somehow see this kit serving me for quite some time as it fulfills my needs perfectly.
