The Martin GPCX2AE Macassar is an allzeck-guitar that looks good on stage as well as on the couch. Thanks to the solid Sapele top, this Grand Performance delivers a surprisingly warm sound and the Fishman Sonitone pickup provides the perfect sound on stage.
The Mexico Series by Martin stands for an affordable price segment and yet delivers the legendary Martin Sound, which has influenced our listening habits to a large extent. The idea behind the Martin GPCX2AE Macassar was to create a guitar that would work both on stage and for purely acoustic use. The result can be seen and heard. Thanks to the solid Sapele top in combination with the Grand Performance body, the Martin GPCX1RAE resonates with powerful bass, warm midrange and clear treble. The relatively flat neck profile and the flat string position provide a soft playability and lie comfortably in the hand. Chrome-plated die-cast mechanics ensure tuning stability and precise tuning.
Another consideration in the development of the Martin GPCX2AE Macassar was to integrate a pickup that removes as little acoustic resonance as possible from the Grand Performance body. For this reason, the Fishman Sonitone was chosen because the puristic electronic equipment largely preserves the acoustic sound. Accordingly, there is only one volume and one tone control at the upper end of the sound hole, which can be used to control the volume and tone characteristics. Amazing, however, is the increased transmission: The Fishman Sonitone provides a surprisingly natural and dynamic sound with great depth.
