The latest reincarnation of the Keeley Tone Workstation, which was developed over 10 years ago, is not only ready for series production, but also contains some useful upgrades in terms of sound and usability. Accordingly, not only the individual circuits were adapted, but also the housing was shrunk to pedalboard-friendly dimensions.
At the beginning of the chain, the Keeley Vintage Compressor is available for light dynamic processing, massive country washs or classic NY compression using the Blend knob. For the additional portion of treble, the Treble Boost Mode can also be switched as part of the circuit.
The Vintage Compressor is followed by the 1962/Katana Boost section, the rocker arm of which gives the player the choice between the strong British overdrive of the sixties and a satiating clean boost of the Katana. In Katana mode, the Tone Workstation reacts only to the volume control of the middle section.
Finally, the signal passes the Keeley Red Dirt Overdrive, which provides the full range of sounds from clean to high gain. Of course, the Red Dirt section convinces just like the standalone device with its concise midrange character and hot, yet smooth OD sounds.
