While ash is a classic wood for the body, Music Man breaks new ground with the StingRay's full-length neck. This is made of roasted maple, which loses a large part of its residual moisture due to complex treatment in a vacuum furnace and thus becomes particularly stable and insensitive to climate fluctuations. At the same time this construction convinces with a solid basic sound, which offers the basis for supporting grooves with elegant sound development and endless sustain. Thanks to the comfortable neck profile, even complex runs between the 24 stainless steel frets of the ebony fingerboard can be handled easily.
Alnico Humbucker and active 3-band tone control give the Music Man StingRay Neck Through an extensive sound spectrum.
The electric tone conversion of the Music Man StingRay Neck Through is performed by a classical Music Man humbucker with Alnico magnet and open pole Pieces, whose characteristic installation position has a decisive influence on the sound. Accordingly, the Fourstring on the amplifier convinces with a powerful bass sound that is suitable for every musical style. The rich low end thrust and the radiant highs complement each other with the cultivated tone development of the continuous neck to a harmonious overall sound, which equally skilfully translates finger and plectrum playing as well as slaps. Furthermore, the Music Man Sting Ray Neck Through is equipped with an active 3-band tone control, which allows extensive, always musical variations of the sound character.
The Music Man StingRay Neck Through has a compensated saddle and Schaller BM tuners.
In addition, the Music Man StingRay Neck Through is equipped with perfectly tuned hardware. The fat Music Man Standard bridge with base plate made of hardened steel and stainless steel string riders ensures a tight brilliance in the sound and at the same time ensures a perfectly adjusted intonation and string position. At the headstock, the strings first run over the compensated saddle, which promises particularly clean sound reproduction, before they end at the Schaller BM tuners, whose high ratio guarantees an exact and stable tuning.
