With the Fender Journeyman Relic Eric Clapton Signature Stratocaster MN 2-Color Sunburst, the Fender Custom Shop presents an electric guitar that combines the sound and feel of the proven Clapton Strat with an artistically designed nitrocellulose relic finish. Accordingly, the electric guitar has a light ash body and a screwed maple neck, while Fender Vintage Noiseless single coils with TBX Tone Control and active mid boost deliver versatile sounds for blues and rock. The Fender Clapton Journeyman Relic Strat is completed by a blocked Fender American Vintage Tremolo and vintage style tuners.
For the construction of the Fender Journeyman Relic Eric Clapton Strat, the Custom Shop team uses a first-class selection of wood and the proven screw neck design. Accordingly, the body is made of light ash, while the one-piece neck is made of maple with standing annual rings. The artificially aged nitrocellulose finish not only promises the look and feel of a long-established electric guitar, but also contributes to the free development of sound. In addition, the Signature electric guitar offers a particularly high playing comfort thanks to the well-shaped "Soft V" neck profile.
Fender Eric Clapton JRN Strat Slowhands uses Vintage Noiseless Single Coil pickups, which deliver the typical, bell-like Strat sound without the typical background noises. Fender TBX Tone Control is also installed for tone control, which is controlled via the center-operated, middle tone potentiometer. The ingenious circuitry makes the sound higher when turning up from the middle position, while it dampens the treble when turning back. The Fender Eric Clapton Strat also offers an active mid boost that raises the signal in the corresponding frequencies by up to 25 dB to elicit creamy lead sounds from the amplifier.
In addition, the Fender Journeyman Eric Clapton Strat offers the typical hardware equipment from its own production. On the body is the proven Fender American Vintage Tremolo, which is blocked with a wooden block like Clapton's own electric guitars. This turns the bridge into a classic hardtail and contributes to the tight sound development of the electric guitar. At the headstock, the strings are also guided via a bone saddle to the precisely acting Fender Vintage Style tuners.
I was never fan of relic guitars, but that one looks and sounds outstanding. I just can only imagine how nice to my eyes would be to have the same guitar but NOS.
