The flexible 10-slot system for 500 Series modules, analogue summing and hybrid studio workflows
The Harrison D510 500 Series Rack is far more than a traditional ‘lunchbox’ enclosure for 500 Series modules. It is an ultra-flexible production system that can be expanded from a simple rack into a comprehensive tracking, mixing and interface solution. The D510 is therefore aimed at producers, engineers and studios who not only want to house their 500 Series setup, but also specifically expand it.
Harrison is building on a long studio tradition that has shaped the sound of countless legendary productions. Names such as Michael Jackson, Led Zeppelin and Steely Dan epitomise precisely the standards that Harrison continues to uphold to this day: sound quality, reliability and genuine practicality.
The D510r, a 10-slot 500 Series rack, forms the basis of a modular system that can be expanded as required. Even on its own, it provides a stable and professional platform for your modules. However, when combined with the optional extensions, it becomes a system that goes far beyond traditional 500 Series racks.
Whether as a portable tracking rack, the centrepiece of a hybrid studio or a flexible control centre for analogue summing: the D510 adapts to your workflow, rather than restricting you to a fixed way of working.
With the D510mx mixer card, the rack becomes a powerful system for analogue summing. This allows you to add more depth, width and spatial layering to digital productions, and gives stems, drum machines or samplers the characteristic analogue cohesion familiar from large mixing consoles.
When combined with modules such as the Harrison 32Cpre+, EQs or dynamics modules, you can build a compact yet serious production system. The result is an extremely powerful Harrison solution for recording and mixing, all within a small footprint.
With the optional D510dante interface, the Harrison D510 becomes the only 500 Series rack with Dante AoIP integration. This is particularly exciting for modern studios, broadcast environments and live productions where audio signals are distributed via network infrastructures.
The Dante extension allows analogue 500 Series modules to be seamlessly integrated into hybrid and network-based workflows. In this way, the D510 combines classic analogue signal processing with the latest infrastructure in the professional audio sector.
The optional D510ua USB + ADAT interface card makes the rack suitable for hybrid production environments with direct DAW connectivity. High-quality A/D and D/A converters on everyslot, as well as additional D/A channels for headphone mixes when used in conjunction with the D510mx, open up versatile routing options for tracking and mixing.
You can connect the system directly to your computer via USB, expand existing setups via ADAT by up to 16 bidirectional channels, or use both in parallel. This is a particularly powerful solution for modern studios, as it seamlessly combines analogue hardware with a digital workflow.
The D510r is housed in a robust steel casing and fits into a standard 19-inch rack. It is therefore equally suitable for use in the studio as well as for mobile productions or touring rigs.
The integrated power supply is particularly important . It delivers 30 per cent more power per module than the classic 500 Series specification provides for. This ensures greater stability, more headroom and a reliable working environment, even when power-hungry modules are installed in the rack.
The rack grows with your needs whilst remaining organised, stable and delivering professional-grade sound quality.
