The body of the Gibson 1959 ES-335 Dot Plain is traditionally made of 3-layer maple/poplar laminate and has a solid center block.

Historically correct construction

The construction of the Gibson 1959 ES-335 Dot Plain Faded Cherry is historically correct according to the plans of Ted McCarty , who had a decisive influence on the company's fortunes in the 1950s. Accordingly, the semi-acoustic electric guitar has a three-layer maple/poplar laminate body, the back and sides of which are connected by a solid maple centre block.
