The Music Man Luke III BFR HH Tumescent is a strictly limited special edition of the popular Steve Lukather Signature electric guitar, signed by the master himself on the tremolo cover. A Music Man Floating Vintage Tremolo and Schaller M6-IND clamping mechanisms complete the Music Man Luke III BFR HH Tumescent.
Compared to the standard model, the Music Man Luke III BFR HH Tumescent with neck and body is made of mahogany, which gives the sound a pleasantly harmonious warmth. With the typical "V"-profile the neck lies comfortably in the hand, so that on the ebony fingerboard every reef and solo can be played with ease.
The electric sound conversion of the Music Man Luke III BFR HH Tumescent is done by two DiMarzio Transition Humbuckers, which were developed together with Steve Lukather. They convince at the amplifier with their powerful, yet detailed sound, whose organic dynamics place the sound shaping in the hands of the player. Additional tonal variability is provided by the active Music Man custom preamp, which provides a gain boost of up to 15 dB via the push/push volume potentiometer.
The Music Man Vintage Tremolo serves as a bridge on the Music Man Luke III BFR HH Tumescent. Floating, the tremolo can be used to create harmonic pitch modulations up and down. To prevent the electric guitar from becoming out of tune, the headstock is fitted with precise Schaller M6-IND locking mechanisms. As a special feature, a compensated saddle is mounted, which improves the intonation of empty strings or strings played in the lower registers considerably.
