Supernaturally cavernous reverbs will be discovered beneath the surface of the Afterneath V2, for those brave enough to descend. There is an impressive array of parameters available to determine the size and nature of the reverb space, and this device can create reverbs and ambient washes quite unlike any other pedal. The Length knob affects the reverb duration and its decay, whilst Diffuse controls the tightness of the developing sound – this range is from a sharper attack to a wider wash as the knob is turned clockwise. The amount of treble present in the patch is determined by the Dampen knob, turning from mellow to bright, left to right. Use Drag to set the distance between delays, behaving more like a traditional reverb in an anti-clockwise position but becoming more spread and delayed as it turns to the right. Increasing the amount of Reflect in the signal will increase the depth, and will begin to feed-back and self-oscillate at high settings. Finally, Mix is the dry/wet balance between the original send and the dialled-in effect. As with all Earthquaker pedals the Afterneath is hand-made in the USA.
