With the Godin A5 Ultra Fretless SA Natural Semi-Gloss the Canadian company presents an extremely flexible semi-acoustic bass with five strings, which not only offers first-class electric bass and acoustic sounds, but is also suitable for controlling a bass synthesizer via 13-pin cable.

Semi-acoustic construction for a sonorous sound

At the heart of Godin's A5 Ultra Fretless SA Bass is a basswood body with generous resonance chambers and solid spruce top, giving the sound a sonorous acoustic timbre and lively dynamics. The bolt-on maple neck impresses with extremely great playability over the bass strings vibrating with classic long scale, while the fretless fretboard guarantees the singing fretless sound with indulgent sound development. In addition, the thumb rest promises a high playing comfort.

Flexible Bass Sound

In addition to the Lace Sensor low-profile bass pickup that delivers crisp electric bass tones at the bass amp, the Godin A5 Ultra Fretless is equipped with an RMC Piezo pickup system for lively acoustic tones with double bass character. While Volume and Tone controls provide the usual control over the magnetic pickup, the Piezo features an active preamp with 3-band EQ whose controls are located in the upper section. Thanks to Synth Access, the Piezo system also allows you to control a bass synthesizer via a 13-pin cable, with Program Up and Program Down switches and a Synth Volume fader.
