The Bose B2 bass module delivers the most low-frequency output for L1 system users who need more powerful bass for larger audiences. The rugged enclosure encases two 10-inch woofers. A switch on the rear panel offers the flexibility of three output levels, depending on application or preference. The L1 system automatically senses and equalizes the chosen setting for optimized performance. The normal setting is ideal for bass guitar or when miking a kick drum. A higher setting is designed for DJ/music playback applications. And the lower setting works well for acoustic guitar and vocals. Interlocking end caps allow two B2 bass modules to be stacked together. Included slip cover protects the module from dings and scratches during transport.
This sub is much heavier than the b1, and side by side you can hear that the b2 sub is more musical, has a sweet full bass response, the b1 has been tuned for a 50-60 hz hump and given its size it too is incredible. But I wanted more bass in larger venues and more if that warmer bass sound all the way up from 40hz to 200hz and this warms the whole system up Without the need for using and extra eq. Now this won’t suit everyone, because it’s much heavier and let’s face it, you by a Bose L1 for the sound quality and easy set up and a lighter alternative. So that’s why you can choose what sub works for you.
I personally love this system, I have been doing sound and gigs for 30 years and since the beginning I’ve always wanted to get the best sound I can do, I started out with a UK sound company Kudos and HH amps and fane speakers, then moved onto Ev s200s then Celestion driven buy a studio master mixer into peavey Cs800 amps and then got into Mackie mixers and active speakers, and then the qsc k series speakers and more recently Alto ts2 and turbosound ip 1000 and DV MARK ergo 4 and its now at a point where you can get a great sounding cab for under £250 per box, but this Bose L1 blows everything else away and I only own the one L1 1s. Just make sure you venue has 83 inches of ceiling height to spare!
