The Gibson The Element AL13 1958 Standard Historic Les Paul is all about the 13th element in the periodic table of the elements: Aluminum! All add-on parts of this unique Custom Shop Limited Edition are made of particularly light and resistant metal. At the same time this Les Paul is a tonal delicacy thanks to the well selected woods and the equipment with Custom Bucker pickups.
Aluminium is the dominant optical element of the Gibson The Element AL13 1958 Standard Historic Les Paul. The light metal, whose soft sheen contrasts tastefully with the timeless Ebony finish, is used for almost all attachments, from the impressive Gibson 3D logo to the pickguard and special potentiometer caps to subtle details such as the engraved washer of the toggle switch. Binding and fingerboard inlays are also made of aluminium.
The basis for the Gibson The Element AL13 Limited Edition is the popular 1958 Standard Historic Les Paul, whose specifications are clearly based on those of this legendary vintage. The neck and body are made of one piece of mahogany and glued together with hot glue (Hot Hide Glue), while the top is made of two pieces of maple. The combination of a strong neck profile and the classic 12" radius of the rosewood fingerboard offers an authentic playing feeling.
Two custom buckers are used as pickups on the Gibson The Element AL13 1958 Standard Historic Les Paul. Originally developed for the Collector's Choice series, these humbuckers sound as close as never before to the legendary PAFs of the golden 1950s. With buoyant dynamics and transparent warmth, the pickups skillfully implement every nuance of play and bring every reef or lick to life. A wide range of different sound nuances can be called up via the classic Les Paul circuit.
