The Mayones Duvell QATSI 6 (Ajna Burst) is the signature model of John Browne, guitarist for the British-American progressive metal band Monuments, and is a truly exceptional electric guitar designed to help him achieve a tight and powerful sound. The Duvell QATSI is equipped with precious woods, including AAA quality Quilted Maple, Wenge and Bubinga, as well as Bare Knuckle humbuckers and high-quality hardware from Schaller and Hipshot. This modern metal guitar represents another level of craftsmanship, which leaves all others in its wake.
Hard Woods
The construction of the Duvell QATSI is sourced from only the best quality woods, giving the guitar a differentiated primary sound with crisp attack. The body is made of American Ash, which thanks to TEW treatment (Tonally Enhanced Wood) promises a particularly supple resonance, whilst the solid AAA Quilted Maple top and the unique Ajna Burst Finish provide stunning looks. The 6-fold bolted neck is made of 5x stripes of Wenge and Bubinga, which in conjunction with the Ebony fretboard helps create a tight sound foundation. The 24x extra jumbo frets are made of stainless steel, with Luminary Dots on the edge to provide the best visibility on dark stages. In addition the fluidly designed neck/body and wide cutaways guarantee unrestricted playability at all positions.
Bare Knuckle Pick-Ups
John Browne specifically chose British made Bare Knuckle pick-ups for his signature model, specifically a Nailbomb humbucker in the bridge and a Cold Sweat humbucker at the neck. The Alnico V magnet in the Nailbomb has an explosive attack, throaty mids and glassy highs which effortlessly deliver punishing riffs even in extremely low tunings. The Cold Sweat is a modern ceramic humbucker with percussive sound and pronounced treble that’s great for flowing sweep picking, singing solos and screaming pinch harmonics. The pick-ups excel with distortion but even with clean settings chords and melodies stand out with impressive harmonic balance. Both humbuckers can also be split for authentic single coil sounds.
Contemporary Hardware
The QATSI 6 is completed with the top quality hardware it deserves. The Schaller Hannes bridge features a special design with Corp Tech body and string pads. This special bridge enriches the guitars sound with sweet highs and an even tonal development, whilst offering a pleasant contact surface for palm mutes or similar playing techniques due to its edgeless surface. Lightweight Hipshot Grip-Lock Open Gear Locking tuners are used to ensure precise and long-term stability for the headstock.
