New edition of the legendary LANG PEQ-2 Program Equalizer
The Lang PEQ-2 from Heritage Audio is a passive equalizer based on a true classic from the 1960s that remains true to the original in terms of sound and appearance. It offers four bands with a total of 26 selectable frequencies, making it possible to shape the audio signal precisely and musically. With its transistor design, robust housing, transformer-balanced inputs and outputs and detented potentiometers, it is a reliable and high-quality companion for recording, mixing and mastering.
The device has a gain trimmer that can be used to attenuate the input signal by up to 12 dB or boost itby up to 16 dB. This is useful to adjust the signal to the optimum operating point of the equalizer or to achieve a slight overdrive effect. It is also possible to activate a hard bypass via a switch and "remove" the device from the signal chain. This also has a status LED that shows User directly whether bypass is switched on or off.
Sections
The Lang PEQ-2 has two cow-tail filters for boosting and attenuating the bass, which can be adjusted independently of each other. This allows, for example, low frequencies to be boosted and unwanted rumble frequencies to be reduced at the same time. The frequency selection ranges from 20 Hz to 240 Hz for the boostand from 25 Hz to 200 Hz for the cut, with a maximum boost of 16 dB and a maximum cut of 18 dB respectively.
For the upper mids and highs, the Lang PEQ-2 offers a bell filter with variable bandwidth that allows precise adjustment of the sound. The frequency selection ranges from 2.5 kHz to 20 kHz, with a maximum gain of 16 dB. The bandwidth can be varied from narrow to wide, depending on whether you want a targeted correction or a gentle boost. There is also a cow-tail filter for attenuating the treble, which ranges from 2.5 kHz to 20 kHz, with a maximum attenuation of 16 dB.
