Ibanez RGD with a fine curly maple top and an extended 26.5" scale length
With the Ibanez RGD721FA-WUF Stained Wine Red Burst Flat, the RGD series – designed for modern metal sounds – is aimed at seven-string enthusiasts who do not wish to compromise on definition and fast handling, even in the lower registers. The extended 26.5"-scale length supports the factory tuning, which extends down to low A, with a crisp response, whilst the five-piece Wizard II-7 neck, crafted from Panga Panga and walnut, together with the Macassar ebony fingerboard and 24 jumbo frets, is designed for precise riffing and technically demanding lead playing. A flamed maple top adds a striking visual accent to the layered ash and okoumé body and is shown off to particular advantage in the Stained Wine Red Burst Flat finish. Two passive DiMarzio Fusion Edge 7 humbuckers provide the ideal output; their powerful and well-defined sound is complemented by an additional coil-tap switch, offering further tonal variations. The modern specification is rounded off by a fixed Gibraltar Standard III-7 bridge, Gotoh MG-T locking tuners and luminescent side dots for easy orientation on dark stages.
