This striking anniversary model features a Technics coreless direct-drive motor, a heavy die-cast aluminium platter and a professional S-shaped tonearm. Gold-coloured anniversary accents, a custom-engraved serial number plaque and a specially designed slipmat lend the Technics SL-1200M7GLE its exclusive character.
The coreless direct-drive motor has been designed for powerful, stable and precise performance. The turntable offers speeds of 33⅓, 45 and 78 rpm and achieves a fast start-up time thanks to its high starting torque of 0.18 N·m or 1.8 kg/cm. The SL-1200M7GLE takes just 0.7 seconds to reach 33⅓ rpm from a standstill.
The very low speed variation of 0.025 % WRMS ensures particularly precise rotation. The heavy die-cast aluminium platter, with a diameter of 332 mm and a weight of approximately 1.8 kg including the slipmat and slipsheet, contributes to high rotational stability.
The professional S-shaped tonearm features height adjustment from 0 to 6 mm and enables precise tracking. Its wide range of cartridge compatibility allows for the use of a variety of DJ and hi-fi cartridge systems. The adjustable tonearm offers a tracking force range of 0 to 4 g and supports cartridge weights of 5.6 to 12.0 g without an additional weight, or 14.3 to 20.7 g including the headshell.
For DJ applications, a pitch control with a ±8 per cent and ±16 per cent adjustment range is available. The signal is transmitted via a separate RCA phono output and a ground terminal.
The design of the Technics SL-1200M7GLE draws on the 55-year history of the SL-1200 series, featuring gold-coloured anniversary details throughout. This distinctive look includes a gold-anodised S-shaped aluminium tonearm, a gold-coloured tonearm base and gold-coloured controls.
The platter, too, takes on a distinctive anniversary look with its gold-coloured rim, gold-coloured stroboscope markings and gleaming gold finish. A matching gold slipmat and the gold-coloured headshell round off the look.
An individually engraved anniversary emblem with its own serial number emphasises its collector’s value. The gold edition is numbered from 0001 to 5000.
