Semi-hollow guitar with EVH sound
The EVH SA-126 Special EB Platinum Pearl Metallic, developed in collaboration with Wolfgang Van Halen, breaks new ground between traditional solidbody design and modern semi-hollow tones. This semi-resonant instrument features two model-specific humbuckers that deliver a versatile tonal range—from precise, high-gain shredding to expressive clean playing. The neck, with its classic slim profile and compound radius fingerboard, ensures the fast, comfortable playability EVH guitars are known for. The instrument also comes with a matching EVH ivory case.
As a link between solidbody and semi-hollow, the EVH SA-126 Special EB Stealth Black offers a broad sound spectrum.
Mahogany body with resonance chamber and center block
Unlike many traditional semi-hollow guitars, which are constructed from separate back, top, and side sections, the SA-126 Special features a mahogany body with a hollowed resonance chamber in the upper section. A distinctive F-hole design and an additional basswood center block complete the construction. The result is an ideal blend of the direct response of a solidbody guitar and the warm, resonant character of a semi-hollow instrument. The body is finished with elegant 5-ply binding in black and cream.
Direct-mount EVH SA-126 humbuckers
To faithfully capture the instrument’s unique tonal character, the SA-126 Special is equipped with two specially wound EVH SA-126 humbuckers. The bridge pickup delivers powerful rock and metal tones, while the neck pickup produces warm, full sounds suitable for expressive jazz lines and vocal-style lead playing. For precise tonal control in the middle position, each pickup is equipped with its own volume and tone controls, allowing seamless blending of both pickups.
