The Ibanez Bass Workshop EHB1506MS-BIF Black Ice Flat as a noble headless Bass combines particularly chic woods with an ergonomic multi-scale design and top-class attachments. While the mahogany body designed for comfortable handling carries a beautiful Poplar Burl top, the nine-piece panga-panga walnut neck offers excellent playing characteristics on the 24-fret fingerboard. In addition, the multi-scale bass guitar provides each string with an optimal scale length, guaranteeing a defined and harmonious output of the entire tonal range. Two Nordstrand Custom Big Single pickups and the flexible Ibanez Vari-Mid active equalizer also promise a differentiated sound spectrum for almost any musical style. Last but not least, Ibanez equips the Bass Workshop EHB1506MS-BIF Black Ice Flat E-Bass with a Custom headpiece and six MR5HS mono-rail bridges with integrated tuning machines.

Headless Multi-Scale Bass with Ergonomic Handling

The modern headless design of the Bass Workshop EHB1506MS puts special emphasis on ergonomic playing characteristics and a defined sound with harmonic balance. The multi-scale construction with scales between 32.5" and 35" (838 mm and 889 mm) means that each string has the optimal length for it, so that every note is precisely represented. The asymmetrical design and beveled back of the mahogany body promise a robust and balanced playing position both sitting and standing. In addition, the flat EHB6 neck profile with 54 mm nut width and just 19.5 mm of wood under the first fret imparts buttery-smooth playing characteristics in all positions of the Panga Panga fingerboard, in which 24 virtually wear-free medium stainless steel frets offer a full two octaves of range per string.

While the Nordstrand pickups deliver diverse sounds of the highest quality, the MR5HS mono rails with integrated tuners keep the EHB1506MS securely in tune.

Nordstrand Pickups and Vari-Mid EQ

The pickups of the Bass Workshop EHB1506MS Ergonomic Bass come from the American noble forge Nordstrand and make the six-string a sonic all-rounder for band accompaniment and virtuoso solo playing. By using classic Alnico V magnets and two angled pole pieces per string, the Nordstrand Custom Big Split pickups wound to maximum Output convince with a powerful yet musical sound that responds to the playing style with a smooth sound development. The two-piece coil design also helps suppress unwanted noise. To precisely adjust the tone, Ibanez also equips the six-string bass guitar with an active Vari-Mid 3-band tone control, whose center control has three selectable center frequencies. The EQ bypass switch also allows the Bass to be set to passive mode, with the treble pot becoming the classic treble control.
