Been looking for a versatile combo amp for my double bass to use for trio gigs. Before I was using a Markbass 801 (too weedy), occasionally connected a Hartke 300w cab (waaaay too heavy). The sound and output on this is pretty decent for the intended use and price. My bass is fully carved and I use a realist sound clip. The amp seems to capture the nuances of the bass and after my first gig with this amp, I was complimented on the authenticity of the sound.
It’s incredibly lightweight which is a plus, although with that it doesn’t seem particularly robust. However, perhaps I’ve been conditioned to believe that weight equals quality! But some of the components such as the dials do feel a little cheap - this is a budget GK after all. Very happy overall though - big (enough), beautiful sound, and equally as portable as my Markbass.
