The Mayones Regius 7 Quilted Maple Lava Burst is a true custom instrument from the Gdansk smithy Mayones, presenting the perfect balance of optical finesse, smooth playability and overwhelming sound. The Regius 7 was equipped with two British Bare Knuckle Aftermath humbuckers and solid hardware from Schaller, Hipshot and ABM. Last but not least, the uniquely matched top made of cloud maple and a transparent lava burst finish provide for interested looks on stage and in the rehearsal room.
The core construction of the Regius 7 is based on the continuous neck made of 11 strips of maple, mahogany, Amazkoe and wenge in the classic thin D-profile. The neck remains pleasantly slim and agile from head plate to neck foot, which is especially beneficial for players with advanced playing techniques. Glued wings made of lightweight sump ash form the body, which is finished by a two-part and carefully matched top made of cloud maple.
As the ideal pickup for modern metal, the Regius 7 uses two Aftermath humbuckers from the English boutique winder Bare Knuckle Pickups. Driven by a ceramic magnet, both pickups with quite a hot winding provide a powerful, loud output with the harmonious balance of bass, midrange and treble. The 7-string version of the popular Humbucker is almost perfect for high gain sounds of metal, punk, hardcore or thrash, but also creates clear and defined cleans on lower gain settings.
The hardware setup of the Mayones Regius 7 Quilted Maple reflects the segment's global market leaders. In addition to solid Schaller Security Locks for safe stage performance, the 7-string features an ABM Fixed Bridge, also manufactured in Germany, while popular Hipshot Grip-Lock Locking Tuners from US production stand for long-lasting precision and indestructible tuning stability.
