The Heritage Audio Symph EQ is a classic equaliser with two high and low shelf bands per channel for professional use in the recording studio. It is also equipped with a global high-pass and low-pass filter, each with a 12dB slope. Thanks to its Baxandall design, the filter quality is automatically increased as the cut or boost increases, allowing for surgical adjustments to the audio signal even without a separate Q control.

Once again, Heritage Audio has opted for high-quality Carnhill input transformers and St. Ives output transformers for the Symph EQ; together with the Neve-style output stage, these ensure a characterful, refined sound. All cut/boost controls are detented and adjustable in 1dB steps. An additional switch allows the step size to be reduced to 0.5dB. This makes the Symph EQ ideal for delicate mastering work. In mid/side mode, the Air band at 24kHz can work wonders, as it allows the perceived stereo image or the depth of a mix to be specifically expanded or reduced. With the low-cut filter, you can boost the low end powerfully from 20 Hz onwards.
