PDP Concept Select Snare 14"x6,5" Aluminium

The PDP Concept Select 14"x6.5" Aluminium Snare features a seamless , 3mm-thick aluminium shell combined with walnut wood hoops. The dry sound of the metal shell is thus complemented by the warmth of the walnut hoops to achieve a balanced and assertive tone. In addition to its sound, this snare also stands out visually from its competitors thanks to the use of walnut hoops and an aluminium shell. A newly designed Art Deco-style logo for the Concept Select range has been laser-engraved onto the shell. Chrome-plated hardware provides an additional contrast to the matt wood and aluminium surfaces. The use of tried-and-tested parts from the DW range ensures that the hardware not only looks good but also performs well. This includes Dual Turret tension lugs and True Pitch fine-threaded tension screws. The well-known DW Mag Throw Off, which holds a snare wire with 20 coils, was chosen as a standout feature.

Concept Select

The models from PDP’s Concept Select series represent the flagship products in the snare drum range of this American drum specialist. They form part of the Concept series but feature a carefully selected range of materials and hardware, hence the name Concept Select. The carefully selected shell materials, ranging from seamless drawn steel to solid bell bronze, are fitted with reliable hardware sourced from the parent company DW’s range. A distinctive feature is the brand-new Concept Select logo, created specifically for these snares in an Art Deco design. To ensure maximum freedom of vibration, the logo is engraved directly onto the shell’s surface using a laser.
