The Yamaha Revstar Standard RSS02T Vintage White skillfully bridges the gap between classic rock tones and modern sound versatility. With its striking café racer-inspired design, this electric guitar offers excellent playability thanks to its ergonomic body contours and slim neck profile, while the two Yamaha VP5 P-90 soapbar single coils deliver characterful tones reminiscent of the wild ’50s and ’60s. A versatile switching system with five positions, combined with an additional Focus Switch, provides an extensive range of tones from vintage to modern.
Chambered Mahogany Body
Thanks to its revised construction, the Yamaha Revstar Standard RSS02T Vintage White offers reduced weight and enhanced resonance. The key feature is the strategically chambered two-piece mahogany body, which incorporates resonance chambers to increase sustain and deliver a lively, responsive tone. Carbon reinforcement rods within the mahogany neck further optimize vibration transfer and overall stability.
Yamaha VP5 P-90 Soapbar Single Coils
The Yamaha Revstar Standard RSS02T Vintage White is equipped with two in-house Yamaha VP5 P-90 soapbar single-coil pickups, delivering everything from vintage rock ’n’ roll and blues to aggressive punk riffs. Built to classic specifications, these pickups feature Alnico V magnets and a wide coil wind for pronounced midrange response. They are carefully voiced for their respective positions and also perform exceptionally well when combined. A Focus Switch, integrated into the push/pull tone control, activates a passive boost that provides additional gain and a noticeable midrange emphasis.

I have had the guitar for 6 months now. Build quality and fit and finish of the instrument is very good. No sharp fret edges, knobs and switches work as intended, tuners are good and does the job and it feels like a well built instrument. I like the sound of the p90s and like that it has a satin neck. I have not used the focus switch a lot and could have done without it to be honest. Overall I am very happy with the guitar and its great value for money.
