ESP USA Eclipse with elegant open-grain mahogany top
The ESP Eclipse Black Cherry offers a significantly more modern interpretation of the Eclipse design. Here, too, a mahogany body with an open-grain mahogany top and a one-piece, three-strip mahogany neck form the structural basis, whilst the 648 mm scale length, the Thin-U profile and the ebony fingerboard with 22 extra-jumbo frets are all designed for direct and agile handling. For electrical signal conversion, an EMG 85X is fitted at the neck and an EMG 81X at the bridge; their active circuitry is particularly well-suited to clearly defined high-gain sounds, whilst also offering greater dynamics than their classic EMG counterparts. Two volume controls and one tone control allow separate control of both pickups, whilst the TonePros Locking TOM bridge, aluminium tailpiece and Sperzel Trim-Lok tuners form an equally high-quality hardware package. Finally, the satin Black Cherry finish with white binding and all-black hardware gives this US-made Custom Shop model its dark, brooding appearance.
