With the 1957 Gibson Standard Historic Les Paul Standard VOS Goldtop, the Nashville, Tennessee-based custom shop of the American traditional manufacturer presents an authentic reproduction of the first Les Paul equipped with humbuckers as standard. The "Standard Historic" specifications offer the guitarist the authentic gold top feeling, while the custom bucker pickups convince with their authentic vintage sound.
The Gibson Standard Historic 1957 Les Paul Standard VOS Goldtop is based on a one-piece body made of carefully selected mahogany, on which the two-piece maple top is glued. The one-piece mahogany neck with Long Neck Tenon is glued with hot glue (Hot Hide Glue), which guarantees a perfect connection and vibration transmission at this neuralgic point due to its high hardness. With its strong profile it offers the authentic gold-top feel supported by the 12" fretboard radius of the rosewood fingerboard.
The 1957 Goldtop Les Paul is the first model in the series with humbuckers fitted as standard, and the Gibson Standard Historic 1957 Les Paul Standard VOS Goldtop is accordingly equipped with these pickups. Both Custom Buckers are made with authentic wire and equipped with Alnico III magnets so that they sound as close as ever to the legendary PAFs of the originals. With feather-light dynamics, warm midrange and a transparent height spectrum, the pickups bring every lick to life.
