2-channel preamplifier with digital option

The ART Digital MPA-II is a high-quality microphone preamplifier suitable for professional studios as well as home and project studios. It offers all the great features of the ProMPA with the added benefit of a digital output. Each of the two channels features switchable 48V phantom power and variable input impedance, which can radically alter the overall performance of a high-quality dynamic or ribbon microphone. The Digital MPA-II can also be configured for dual-mono or stereo operation and supports selectable mid/side microphone configuration.

To allow for a wider range of preamp tone and performance, the plate voltage (high or low) can be selected in the input section, which is then applied to the two integrated 12AX7 valves. The front panel of the unit features two large backlit VU meters, which display the output level, whilst the multi-coloured LED meters, showing average or peak values, indicate the tube gain and the digital output levels. In addition to XLR and analogue 6.35mm jack outputs , the Digital MPA-II features a high-quality A/D converter that provides digital connectivity via S/PDIF, ADAT or AES/EBU outputs. A ‘ Drehregler ’ on the front panel allows you to select the format and sample rates from 44.1 to 192 kHz, as well as 16-bit dithering. The front panel also features two Hi-Z inputs, which can be used to connect high-impedance instruments.
