Anyone who buys a Roland Fantom-08 during the promotional period, starting on 18 August 2026 and ending on 30 September 2026, will receive a high-quality Roland keyboard case free of charge! This ensures your instrument is optimally protected whilst on the move and in storage!

The Roland FANTOM-08 is a powerful synthesiser workstation featuring a sequencer, sampler, audio interface and extensive synthesiser functions. The FANTOM-08 skilfully combines the portability and light weight of the FA-08 with the workflow and sound design of the FANTOM-8, making it the perfect solution for anyone who wants to travel extensively with a modern workstation. The generously sized and expandable sound memory contains over 3,500 high-quality sounds of a wide variety of styles, as well as over 90 state-of-the-art drum kits. The sound library consists largely of Roland’s latest sound-generation technologies: ZenCore, SuperNATURAL and Virtual Tone Wheel Organ. Furthermore, the sound library is expandable and compatible with content from the Roland Cloud. The sequencer offers real-time, TR/step sequencing and a clip sequencer. One-shots and loops can be easily triggered via pads in the sampler and incorporated into your own creations.
Another highlight of the FANTOM-08 is the scene memory, organised into four banks of 128 slots each. These act as quick-access creativity memory slots and capture everything you’re currently working on. Whether it’s a handful of patterns, a song you’ve started, a sound still in the development phase, various settings linked to your current project in the DAW; or even all of the above at once; handwritten notes and situations where you think “I’ve got to keep this open because I can’t save it” are definitely a thing of the past. Anyone who has worked with Roland instruments before will quickly realise that the FANTOM-08 helps you achieve results faster, not only thanks to its uncluttered interface but, above all, its highly intuitive menu navigation.

Roland has really splashed out on the FANTOM-08, equipping its synthesiser workstation with over 3,500 sounds and more than 90 drum kits, as well as a mix of its latest synthesis technologies: ZenCore, SuperNATURAL and Virtual Tone Wheel Organ. Thrilling synthesiser sounds, rich basses, strings, organ, piano, guitar, brass, choir, wind instruments and more; the selection in the FANTOM is truly impressive! The typical Roland sound architecture has been retained in that each sound can still consist of up to four parts. However, in the FANTOM, these parts correspond to a complete, comprehensive synthesiser voice, complete with its own oscillator and filter models, envelopes, modulation assignments and, of course, its own volume and pan settings.
A total of 90 multi-effects are just waiting to be used individually, in parallel or in series to alter and refine the sounds produced by each part. The selection of delay, reverb, chorus, flanger, distortion and truly unique effects with a ‘wow’ factor should leave nothing to be desired. In addition, each part has its own equaliser. The master compressor is located at the main output. The microphone input is equipped with its own effects processor, which largely overlaps with the selection of synth-part effects and also features a 32-band vocoder.
The FANTOM-08’s sequencer offers a range of parallel recording and composition approaches that perfectly support ‘genre-specific’ recording methods. Instead of recording all tracks in a single pattern ‘as in the old days’, the FANTOM offers the option to freely combine the 16 tracks and use them independently of one another. Songs can be arranged in the classic linear fashion or using the clip sequencer (similar to Ableton Live). The TR/Step sequencer, which also supports sub-steps and ratching, is ideal for programming rhythms. You can record that perfectly played piano or funky organ in real time, with or without note quantisation. The same applies to the 16 pads, which trigger individual sounds from the internal sound generator or your own samples. This way of using the pads is familiar from Akai’s MPC range. Behind the pads lies the sampler; with eight-voice polyphony, four banks of 16 pads each can be assigned. Sounds and loops can be up to 2GB in size, and time-stretching is, of course, also available for loops. A comprehensively equipped arpeggiator and a chord memory function are also among the FANTOM’s sophisticated performance aids.

The FANTOM can be fully integrated into the workflow of a DAW (including Ableton Live, Logic Pro and MainStage). Thanks to the USB audio interface, 16 stereo tracks can be recorded, edited and, above all, processed simultaneously on the computer. This ensures maximum convenience and audio quality whilst minimising the need for cabling. Many of the DAW’s functions can also be controlled directly on the FANTOM. Thanks to multiple USB ports, it goes without saying that, in addition to connecting to a computer and an external storage device such as a USB stick, it is possible to connect further devices. Here, for example, it makes sense to connect a second keyboard for two-manual playing, a breath controller or a fader box.
