The Yellowtec Pro Head with cardioid polar pattern is designed as a directional head for recording in environments with varying levels of noise, making it a safe choice for most applications as an all-rounder. By picking up sound from the front, it filters out ambient noise and, with its optimized frequency response, ensures excellent voice pick-up and intelligibility with a warm sound. The cardioid pickup pattern is ideal as a reporter microphone for interview applications in a variety of environments such as large events or outdoor recordings in high traffic areas. A proximity effect(amplification of bass frequencies), which many directional microphones have to contend with, occurs in close-up recordings as a desired slight bass amplifier. The high-pass filter of the LEA engine integrated in the recorder provides first-class equalization of the frequency ranges.
