The Gibson Collector's Choice #39 1959 Les Paul tells the story of the "Minnesota Burst". A classic attic find in a shop in Minnesota, the amazingly well-preserved'59 Burst found its way into the hands of Andrew Raymond, a private collector from Great Britain. Their impeccable condition, the deep and powerful flame of the ceiling and the well-preserved original paintwork understandably caused a sensation in the burst collector scene. Last but not least, the Les Paul with the serial number 9-1105 is considered one of the best preserved bursts of 1959.
The Gibson Collector's Choice series from the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville strives for the greatest possible authenticity. Accordingly, the original with the serial number 9-1105 was put through its paces and recreated with the aid of classic production steps of the late 1950s. The classic Les Paul has historically correct hardware and plastic parts in the form of butyrate potentiometer knobs and a multi-layer acrylic pickguard, while the long neck foot (Long Neck Tenon) and the broadly flamed maple top are glued with glass hard bone glue for direct resonance transmission.
To achieve not only look and feel, but also the unique dark and warm tone of the 9-1105, Gibson chose a combination of a burst bucker on the neck and a custom bucker in bar position. This "off-balance setup" of the original 1959 Les Paul results in a vocal sound with well-assorted highs and a classical'woman tone' in the low range. The Gibson Custom Shop also uses authentic pickup covers with traditional radius and shaping for the CC #39;
The Gibson CC #39 Andrew Raymond Les Paul comes with Gibson Lifton 535 Style Case in aged look and Gibson Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity.
