With the Ibanez Artcore Expressionist AS93FM-TCD Transparent Cherry Red, the traditional Japanese company presents a classic semi-acoustic electric guitar. With its laminated curly maple body and two Super 58 pickups, it delivers authentic vintage sounds, while the comfortably shaped neck ensures soft playability.
For the construction of the body of the Ibanez Artcore Expressionist AS93FM-TCD, Ibanez uses laminated curly maple, whereby back and top are connected with a solid center block. Accordingly, the electric guitar delivers a particularly resonant sound without tending to feedback at high volumes. At the same time the slim mahogany neck offers a high playing comfort for all playing techniques.
Two Super 58 humbuckers are used as pickups on the Ibanez Artcore Expressionist AS93FM-TCD Transparent Cherry Red, with which George Benson, Pat Metheny or Eric Krasno also form their characteristic sounds. Accordingly, these pickups convince with a warm, evenly articulating sound, which represents clean jazz lines as well as juicy rock and funk riffs with harmonic dynamics. In addition, a broad spectrum of different sound nuances can be called up via the classic circuit with individual volume and tone controls.
Just great guitar. Superb. I was thrilled when I took it in my hands. Neck pickup is fabulous, crystal clear, punchy, man cannot ask for more. Bridge pickup I like but it hasn't amazed me as neck pickup. Guitar has fantastic sustain. It reacts fenomenaly to pedal effects. Tuners hold guitar in tune very well. Neck is smooth, fast and very playable. Volume and tone pots are pretty decent, there are no unwanted sounds when you use them. Nice touch is rubber ring around each pot. High-gloss finish and binding are made very well. Of course, strings change is a must.
Cons: I don't like gold painted hardware because paint will come off in time. Eventually I will change all gold hardware. Toggle switch could be better, it is a little bit loose or should I say "weak". These cons do not interfere playability or sound quality.
