The Yamaha TRBX 505 Translucent White is the flagship of the TRBX series from Yamaha, offering a tremendous variety of sounds and excellent playability. Two Yamaha humbuckers with Alnico magnets and the active 3-band tone control provide a wide range of different tones, allowing the electric bass to be used in any musical context, while the combination of a strongly contoured mahogany body and a flat maple/mahogany neck ensures a high level of playing comfort.
For the construction of the Yamaha TRBX 505 Translucent White, Yamaha follows classic guidelines and manufactures the body in mahogany, while the screwed neck is made of five-striped maple and mahogany. This wood combination ensures a well-balanced basic sound with fast attack, which also precisely reproduces the low H-string. Due to its special contouring, the body has a well-balanced balance, which guarantees an ergonomic playing position without top-heaviness both on the knee and on the belt. In addition, the flat neck lies comfortably in the hand when playing the electric bass, so that every bass line goes easily out of the fingers. To ensure that the orientation between the 24 medium frets of the rosewood fingerboard is not lost, off-set dot inlays mark the layers.
Two passive Yamaha H5 humbuckers equipped with Alnico 5 magnets are used as pickups on the Yamaha TRBX 505. Due to their special design with four pole pieces per string, they deliver a high output and transmit every tone with high detail fidelity and pronounced attack, which never seems too harsh. The low B-string with its precise tone development and crisp response is also integrated into the sound. The bridge pickup also convinces with high penetration power in the low frequencies, while the neck pickup provides full clean sounds. The five-string also offers active 3-band tone control, which allows precise adjustment of the bass sound across all frequency ranges. The mini switch can also be used to switch off the equalizer and passively play the electric bass, with the treble control acting as a classic tone control. Another practical feature is the battery status indicator in the electric compartment lid.
