For the Schecter C-1 SLS Elite Black Fade Burst, Schecter relies on an elaborate neck-thruogh construction and a first-class wood selection. The heart of the electric guitar is accordingly the seven-piece neck made of maple, walnut and padouk, which is additionally reinforced by carbon inlays. Also glued to the neck are body wings made of swamp ash with a top made of curly maple. The extremely flat "Ultra Thin C" neck profile and the compound radius of the ebony fingerboard, which increases from 12" to 14", also ensure absolutely unimpeded playability.
The Schecter C-1 SLS Elite Black Fade Burst is powered by a Fishman Fluence Modern Alnico humbucker on the neck and a Fishman Fluence Modern Ceramic Humbucker on the bridge. Based on the innovative Fluence Core, each pickup has two strong voicings that blur the boundaries between active and passive humbuckers and provide versatile sounds for modern rock and metal. The pickups are managed by the volume and tone controls designed as push/pull potentiometers as well as a 3-way blade switch.
The Schecter C-1 SLS Elite Black Fade Burst also features high-quality hardware. The Hipshot Hardtail on the body, with its solid construction and the string guidance through the body, is not for nothing an absolute standard for a tight sound image, whereby the generous adjustment paths of the string riders guarantee an optimal adjustment of intonation and string position even during deep drop-tunings. The headstock is equipped with a compensated saddle by Ernie Ball, which plays chords with clean intonation in the lower registers. Schecter clamping mechanisms also promise precise and stable tuning.
