The T-Rex Replicator Tape Delay Pedal is an updated cartridge version of the successful tape delay guitar effects pedal released at Namm 2015. With tap tempo delay time control, true bypass switching, high headroom, two Expression inputs for real-time control and a Kill Dry button for use in a parallel effects loop. The quality of tape delay emulators has evolved over time, but the Replicator represents a genuine magnetic tape delay. Handmade in Denmark, this effects pedal is a pure analogue tape delay and features two playback heads (one tap-tempo controllable, one independently bypassable), and uses a boasts a C30 1/8" chrome tape cassette.
The Replicator has a variety of controls. The Delay Level adjusts the level of the two playback heads, whilst the Feedback adjusts the amount of feedback on both delays, reaching self-oscillation. The Delay Time control adjusts the delay time from 8 m/s to 3 seconds, and the tempo can be tapped, but this does not apply to Head 2. The Master Boost control allows you to go from unity gain to +20dB boost for overall volume boosts, while the Chorus control provides you with built-in tape modulation, which varies the tape speed in very small amounts, resulting in pitch modulation of the delays. Lastly the Saturation control drives the Record head into saturation (led peak indication)
