To ensure that the Gibson 1963 ES-335TDN provides a certain aha effect when the case is opened, the translucent maple laminate used for the top and back is carefully selected by hand and accordingly has an elegant grain. Away from the chic look, the classic ES Semi-Hollow construction promises a warm, woody resonance in the sound, while the mahogany neck with its well-proportioned curves lies comfortably in the hand.

Two Gibson MHS humbuckers are used as pickups on the Gibson 1963 ES-335TDN. Based on the legendary PAF humbuckers of the 1950s, these Memphis Historic Spec pickups deliver an authentic vintage sound that captures the warm wood resonance of semi-acoustics with lively dynamics. The pickups are controlled using the traditional Gibson circuitry, which consists of a 3-way toggle switch and individual volume and tone potentiometers.
