Audio-Technica ATH M50X Closed headphones

It was the second time I bought music equipment in your online shop. The last time I ordered Audio-Technica ATH-M50x headphones.
The first thing I want to say is the purpose of buying these headphones, because this is very important: I was looking for the tool of additional control. To simplify the process of working at my home studio, mixing and mastering.
The order arrived in proper time. The headphones were well and carefully packed. Inside the box I found a full set of equipment of three cabels, an adapter Jack from 3,5 to 6,5 mm and a bag for the headphones as a very nice addition.
The headphones fit the head very comfortably, though they are quite heavy. So during the long process of using them youll need some breaks. The headphones are very enclosed indeed. The sound-insulation is outstanding, so I dont disturb anyone if there are people in the room.
This factor is also very important for the vocalists.
At the very beginning the headphones got warmed up quite fast and sounded the proper way. The sound I heard completely met my expectations. The low frequencies are so deep and clear. And what is more important for me - they are smooth. Its the very thing I needed from the headphones because of the studio monitors nonlinearity and poor acoustics of the room.
The detailing is stunning. The space is the right-on as it should be for the headphones of this price band. And this is sufficient for me to create EDM.
The transients perform very well, now I always check the compression by the use of them.
The sound is being delightfully translated to the monitors after the night of "hanging up" with the headphones. So, as a whole they give very balanced and smooth sound.
Well, I suppose this is all I can say about technical aspects.
And now let me draw a conclusion and help those who cant make a decision: these headphones are great. The sound is very strong and downright. The bass is tight. If you are searching for the headphones of this price band, I think it would be the great choice for your studio. I couldnt make a decision for a long time and luckily I made it the right way. Now I have a good helper in the effort for the clear and high-quality sound and cool mixdowns.

For a long time Ive been using Sony 7506 for live and Beyerdynamic DT990 in the studio and I was looking for a more trustable headphone on the "low side" of life..
After an hour testing different possibilities I went out the shop with M50X, period.

Still comparing with other tools while mixing (Genelec, NS10, Tannoy, Beyerdynamic, getto blaster, iPad speakers, etc) like everybody should, but I couldnt live without actually.

Solid and well manufactured, wonderful the option of the different cables.
Only minus: much more tiring than DT990 if you have them on for a while.
Plus: you can give it to a "deaf singer" without having spills

These are definitely the best pair of headphones possible in this kind of price range! One hundred percent satisfied with the product! I would recommend them to everyone for any kind of usage, either for listening to music, music production and edition, or even gaming! They are very comfortable, and come with three detachable cables which are really convenient!

Really good headphones for the price, I also have the Sennheisers HD-25 II and this headphones can defenetly compete with those. The main diference in sound I noticed is that the ATH-M50X feels kinda like a monitor, because the earpads are not as close to your ears as the ones on the HD-25, which for me is a plus. (But it needs some time to get used to)

ATH-M50 headphones are really something else!
Monitoring is perfect to the latest frequency that anyone human can hear, and much much more! The same sound that one is used to hearing through any other headphones is sooooo much enhanced when one uses M50! One can hear so much detail that it is incredible!
And these headphones make you WANT to listen to the music for longer but that does not present any problems - they`re so comfortable because of memory foam inside ear cushions that you want to keep them on even when not listening to anything.
M50x headphones can be used for listening the music from smartphones by simply changing to the shortest cable from the available 3 supplied cables. Inserting and changing them is as easy as it can get.
Overall, Audio-Technica headphones are the very best of headphones available anywhere, whatever one wants to use them for!
