As a true custom shop Paula from the Gibson Nashville Facility, this Gibson Les Paul Standard presents a classic feeling, harmonious looks and of course just the right sound. High-quality components in the form of selected tonewoods, solid hardware from Gibson and Kluson and two custom bucker pickups are used on the Gibson Les Paul Standard, while proven design features of a good LP, such as the long neck pin or the use of hot glue are used. The Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville provides the Les Paul Standard with its own Gibson Hardshell case and a certificate of authenticity signed by the Custom Shop Manager.
The one-piece mahogany neck of the Gibson Les Paul Standard has the medium-thick 1950s style neck profile and evokes the classic'C' feeling with the ideal portion of wood behind the fretboard. Neck and body are connected by a long neck foot (Long Neck Tenon) and glued with hot ball glue to create a firm and resonant connection at the transition. The result is an extremely crisp and direct response with improved sustain characteristics.
As the best sounding version of the PAF humbucker, the custom bucker is specially designed for the top-of-the-line solidbody instruments of the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville. Its articulative character with the classic Bite, Chime and Growl he gets from an Alnico III magnet and the right number of windings on both coils. Both pickups are of course tuned to each other and can be operated with 3-way toggle switches and separate volume and tone controls.
The classic Gibson ABR Tune-O-Matic bridge is responsible for a firm connection between vibrating string and solid mahogany body on the Les Paul Standard. The precisely adjustable bridge has two thumbwheels for adjusting the string height and leads the string to the lightweight aluminium tailpiece. At the other end of the instrument, robust Kluson Deluxe Green Key tuners provide stable tunings and classic looks.
