With a basswood body, maple top, and a glued-in maple neck reinforced by Hagstrom’s signature H-Expander truss rod, it delivers the stability, sustain, and agility required for styles ranging from blues and rock to metal.
At the core of the Ultra Swede's fast feel is its Ultraslim D-profile neck, crafted from maple and strengthened by the H-Expander tension rod – a Hagstrom innovation known for combining exceptional stiffness with perfect neck relief. The Resinator Wood fingerboard offers superior durability and tonal consistency, providing a smooth surface for intricate runs and bends across all 22 frets. A striking Cosmic Black Burst finish over a flamed maple top completes the stylish aesthetic, giving the guitar a refined and modern look.
The Ultra Swede Lefthand is equipped with two Hagstrom Custom 62 humbuckers, designed with ceramic magnets for a tight, punchy response. These pickups produce powerful tones ideal for modern blues, hard rock, and metal, with clear note definition and aggressive mids. A mini switch located between the volume and tone controls allows players to split the humbuckers, unlocking crisp, airy single-coil sounds for added versatility – perfect for dynamic genre blending or expressive cleans.
Hagstrom complements this model with a dependable hardware setup engineered for stability and sustain. The proprietary Sustain Block Tailpiece features six individual brass string blocks, ensuring direct energy transfer and consistent tone. A great sounding guitar for the price. Looks good too. I've done a a couple of gigs with it and sounds good through a laney valve amp with a nice variety of sounds with the different pick-up settings. It stays in tune which is a bonus!
