The Palmer enz is a passive 2-channel box that can be used to eliminate annoying interference signals such as humming or high-frequency "buzzing" when connecting a media player or laptop to a hi-fi or sound system. The cause of these interferences is usually different ground potentials, which result in equalizing currents through the audio lines.
The remedy is a transformer that separates the ground line between the two devices. The Palmer enz has two such isolating transformers, because it has a two-channel design. Its inputs and outputs are designed as RCA jacks, which are common for hi-fi and consumer equipment. However, its sound quality will satisfy even professionals, because the sound remains unaltered.
